OUTREACH & MISSION

St. Michael's offers every parishioner opportunities to serve others through local, regional, national and international mission work.

The only requirement is a servant's heart.

A commitment to our community and the world is a primary focus of our parish. St. Michael’s offers parishioners of every age the opportunity to do the work of God. From our in-parish alternative gift giving market, Gifts of Grace, to missions like Family Promise, the Episcopal Farmworker Ministry, mission trips and monthly collections for community organizations, St. Michael’s provides parishioners the opportunity to make a real difference. Be the hands and feet of Christ at St. Michael’s in large ways and small.

GIFTS OF GRACE

Our alternative gift market raises funds for faith-based and parishioner-supported organizations in the community. Parishioners interact with agencies in a fair-like atmosphere and make donations in honor of family and friends. Acknowledgement cards are available. In addition, various signature food items are available from the ECW chapters. All funds support mission efforts.

THE CANTERBURY SHOP

The Canterbury Shop is the only in-parish gift shop in the Raleigh area. It is located in the lobby of the St. Michael’s Parish House.

Open since 1990, the shop is staffed by volunteers. All proceeds from the shop support St. Michael’s Outreach and Mission efforts. The Shop raises thousands of dollars annually to help those in our community.

Customers can find a unique collection of items in the shop, including prayer books, greeting cards, children’s items, home decor, jewelry, clothing, accessories and gifts for every occasion.

Complimentary gift wrap is provided with purchases. We accept cash, checks, credit and debit cards. Shop online or in the store!

MISSION TO BELIZE

Our parish has a long-standing relationship with Holy Cross Anglican School in Ambergis Cay, Belize. Our parishioners helped establish the school, and each spring return to work on building renovations and conduct Vacation Bible School or after-school care for the children who attend. Recent work has been to help construct a priest’s house, along with a number of parishes in North Carolina.

The Belize Mission takes place 1 week during the spring of each year.

FAMILY PROMISE

St. Michael’s partners with Family Promise of Wake County to offer a continuum of services that help move families from homelessness to safe, affordable, permanent housing.

MISSION COLLECTIONS

Throughout the year, this ministry collects items for various community agencies — from canned food and diapers, animal shelter items, to books and supplies for school children. Check the Canterbury Tales and our weekly newsletter for our monthly collection project.
